Each week, the lineup of THE GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles – Sports Station in Southwest Louisiana will share a little something about themselves.
This week the team answers the question: “What was your first vehicle?”
Hannah Five Names (morning producer)
“So ‘was your first car’ requires you to be on your second or third….. I’m still with my first car which is my grey/silver 2007 Honda Pilot. I was super excited to finally have a car that my mother-in-law gave to me at the end of my first year of high school which was paid for two years before I received it. For a very long time, there was a picture of me (8 years old) and my little brother ( 9 months old) sitting in the passenger seat of my car, so it was pretty cool to pass the torch on to me from my mother-in-law (Jenn) Christine is old, but she’s still running so it’s ok!
Matt Miguez (host of Crunchtime with Miguez & Meche)
“My first car was a 2005 Chrysler Sebring. I got it after my mother-in-law bought a new car and the other one was paid off, so they gave it to me. I drove it for four years before the engine failed. lol Lots of good memories in this car, but I’m glad I improved.
Clint Domingue (Under the Dome Host)
“The first car I got was the one I got when I was 17, a 1993 Chevrolet Cheyenne. I was so excited to have my own truck, just to have a vehicle where I didn’t. didn’t have to hitchhike with mum and dad, it was pretty awesome I remember the first time I washed it – it was a family friend’s old work truck so no need to say it took about two hours to clean, especially the bed of the truck. That said, this truck has collapsed more times than the Atlanta Falcons in high school. I’m glad I had those experiences , but I’m glad that truck is long gone.
Raymond Partsch III (Host of RP3 & Company)
“My first car was a 1978 Monte Carlo. I bought it at an auction house for $150.00. My dad and I worked on it for over a year. We would go to junkyards to get the parts needed to make it work, and use Bondo to fill in the holes on the body. The dash was so cracked that I even bought a dash mat to cover it. My dad and I sanded it, primed it, then had a good laugh when we were given the wrong paint. We ordered royal blue and the store gave us baby blue. So yes, my first car was a sky blue 1987 Monte Carlo and I loved that car. I especially liked it when a guy who was driving a Mustang GT (with a weak little six) wanted to race me—not knowing I had a 305 V8 under the hood. Nothing like getting your doors blown out by a car painted baby blue.
Jordy Hultberg (Jordy Hultberg show host)
“My dad promised me in 8th grade that if I got a college, athletic, or college scholarship, he’d buy me a car. I signed my basketball scholarship papers to LSU in April. 1976. My birthday is that same month. Dad took me to Paretti Pontiac on Veterans Blvd in New Orleans and we picked out a brand new ’76 Firebird Esprit. Silver Blue… I rode that bad boy until until the wheels fall off.
James Meche (Afternoon Shows Producer)
“My first car is a red Chevrolet Cruze. I remember my mom asking me what color of car I wanted so not expecting her to go with my first choice I said ‘red, white or black’ but I would have preferred white. The following Christmas, my parents surprised me with my bright red car. My friends call it the “Red Rocket!”
Kevin Foote (footnotes host)
“It happened in 1983 but I don’t remember the year of the vehicle. It was a green and gold Cutlass Supreme. Unfortunately, I don’t remember how much it cost or how I paid for it. I just know that that year I started hating Mike Lansford for life.
