Hailey Bieber, Gigi Hadid and Drake all paid tribute to the creator

The sad news broke last night (November 28) that designer and entrepreneur Virgil Abloh sadly passed away at the age of 41, after losing his battle with an aggressive form of cancer two years after his diagnosis. Tributes have since poured in for the design visionary from celebrities around the world including Hailey Bieber, Gigi Hadid and Drake.
Hailey Bieber shared various images with Virgil, including photos of her gorgeous wedding dress. The model wrote: “Virgil has completely changed the way I look at street style and fashion, his way of seeing things has deeply inspired me. I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am to have known him. and worked with him, from walking his catwalks to having him design my wedding dress and all the other amazing moments in between, I felt he still took root.
“He was someone who always brought life, charisma, love and pleasure to any situation, and to every room he walked into. A unique creative mind in a generation that is so rare and I will never forget its impact. We love you Virgil. ‘
Model Gigi Hadid also shared a touching post, writing: “I am heartbroken at the loss of my dear friend and friend of the world Virgil Abloh. He was 1 in 1. His kindness and energetic generosity left a lasting impression on every life he touched – he made everyone feel seen and special. He will be deeply missed, cherished and celebrated by me and all the people and industries who have been fortunate enough to work around & know the real supernova behind this man.
“I imagine him now as our Mickey Mouse… forever with us, forever adored, forever magical, forever guiding us with that special FUN Virgil; I’m sure that’s how he wanted him to be remembered, but it will never be the same without him in the room. Gigi’s sister, Bella, also shared a touching message, writing, “I’m lost… He was someone for everyone.” It was the magical power he held. He made everyone he met feel special in every way he could. Even when the world felt sad, it brought laughter, color and beauty. The way he positively impacted everything he touched and always pushed for his culture / the world is why he was an angel on earth and one of many. The most beautiful soul of a warrior. I can’t believe this. .

Sharing footage of himself alongside Virgil, Drake wrote: “My plan is to touch the sky 1000 more times for you… I love you forever brother“ thank you for everything ”.
Kendal Jenner also paid tribute, writing: “I can’t believe I’m writing this. If you had the privilege of knowing Virgil you are one of the lucky ones. He was the nicest, most positive, humble person , joyful and full of light I have ever known. he had the most wonderful way to make you feel so special. his genuine smile would warm your heart. battling his illness in private perfectly explains the type of man he is. was, he never wanted anyone to worry about him.

Kendal’s sister, Kourtney Kardashian, also paid tribute to the designer, sharing the post announcing the sad news of her death to her Instagram Story and writing: “You changed the world” (sic).
Follow huge designer brands who have also shared touching messages for Virgil, with Gucci writing: “We wish to express our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Virgil Abloh, a huge inspiration to all of us both as a creator and as a as a person, he will be sorely missed, even though his vision will endure through the paths he has traced throughout his career.
Clothing brand Pangaia also paid tribute, writing: “Dear Virgil, You have inspired us in so many ways. We love you and we will miss you all. Rest in peace ️🙏🙏🏿🙏🏼🙏🏾🙏🏽🌎 ‘.

The sad news of Virgil’s passing was announced last night (November 28), with a post shared on his personal Instagram account. The message was captioned: “We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Gray Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh and many dear friends and colleagues.
“For more than two years, Virgil valiantly fought a rare and aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma. He has chosen to wage his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing many difficult treatments, while also leading several important institutions that span fashion, art and culture.
“Through it all, his work ethic, endless curiosity and optimism have never wavered. Virgil was motivated by his dedication to his craft and his mission to open doors for others and to create pathways for greater equality in art and design. He would often say, “Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself”, deeply believing in the power of art to inspire future generations.
